PLEASE READ - FAQ

Are you licensed?

Yes! I am licensed and inspected by the New York State Department of Agricultural Markets. All of my dahlias are grown and divided by me.

Do you sanitize?

Yes. When harvesting, I sanitize my snips with Virkon S in between each plant. This adds an immense amount of time to the task but I want to keep my plants as clean as possible. When taking cuttings, I use a medicine dropper to apply my rooting hormone in order to eliminate the risk of cross-contamination and my cuttings do not share water. I release beneficial insects and focus on soil health. I cull any plant that looks remotely suspicious. If it's not thriving in my field, I'm not sending it to yours.

What are my shipping options?

For my March sale, orders will begin shipping immediately via USPS Priority shipping. The cost for shipping and handling will be $15. At checkout you will have the option to choose “USPS Priority shipping” or “USPS Priority shipping WITH HEAT PACK.” If you select the latter I will include a 72 hour heat pack in your package - the price will be $3 more.

Do you combine shipping?

Use code "MOREDAHLIAS" on subsequent orders for combined shipping minus a $3 processing fee.

Do you guarantee a virus-free plant?

No. Studies suggest that over 80% of the dahlia stock in the US is infected with some kind of virus. I do everything in my power to reduce that risk (see information about my sanitizing protocol above) but I cannot guarantee that a virus will not present itself. If you are not comfortable with this risk, please do not buy from me.

Can I get a refund?

Please, please, please inspect your package within 24 hours of receipt and reach out to me within that time frame to voice any concerns. I want you to be happy and will address every issue on a case-by-case basis. These cases are referring to a damaged neck or no visible eye. These cases are not referring to complaints of storage failure three months after receipt of a tuber.

What does "limit one" mean on a variety?

I reserve the right to place limits on any variety. It's likely because I have a very limited amount to offer and it's important to me that they are as accessible as possible. A limit is per household and any subsequent orders placed with the same name and/or address will be cancelled and subjected to a 20% processing fee

How can I get in touch with you?

Please use the "Contact" tab on my website to send me a message. This is the quickest way to get my attention. I reserve the right to ignore rude messages - if you're looking to go into keyboard combat, please do so elsewhere or preferably not at all.
